The Culture Society will visit the photography museum Huis Marseille to see a special collection of avant-garde and surrealist photographs from the Belgian art magazine Variétés. Although short-lived, this 1920s magazine gave a platform to young, adventurous photographers whose works are organized in various galleries centered around fascinating themes, such as surrealism, the modern city, the poetry of the street, the machine age, and photographic experiments.
The visit will take place on Wednesday, September 20th at 17:00. Tickets cost 6.50 euros for students, and entrance is free for holders of a Museumkaart, ICOM card, I Amsterdam City Card or Stadspas. The address for Huis Marseille is Keizersgracht 401, 1016 EK Amsterdam.
