Would you like to learn more about the political impact of the recent earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria on Turkish politics? For the April CIA lecture, we have invited Dr. Beste Isleyen, assistant professor from the University of Amsterdam, whose research addresses conceptual and empirical questions of border security, territoriality, technology and practices. Her previous research examines the daily governance of migration and borders in Turkey. She will focus her lecture on Turkish politics before and after the recent earthquakes. The discussion will further explore the relationship between natural disasters and domestic/foreign policy implications of a country’s politics.
